Joe Hiro, a junior in THS was recently elected governor at the YMCA's Youth in Government conference held at the state capital in April. He has served on several statewide committees since his freshman year and was lieutenant governor last year. He is following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, H. G. Burleigh, from Ticonderoga, who served as a state assemblyman and U.S. congressman. He is the son of Jane Burleigh, Ticonderoga.
