Tuesday Lake Talks

The Lake George Association (LGA) hosts Lake Talks a series of programs pertaining to Lake George on Tuesday evenings at 7:30PM in July and August at the LGA Center on Route 9N So., Luzerne Road, just west of Northway Exit 21. Programs are open to the public and free of charge. For more information call LGA at (518)668-3558.

July 7 Lake George Reflections book signing by Frank Leonbruno. The author will discuss his newly published book and be available to sign it.

July 14 "Nurturing Nature At Up Yonda Farm" by Ruth Lamb. Discover the history and the current activities at Warren County's new environmental education center in Bolton Landing.

July 21 "Identifying Wildflowers & Photography Tips" by Laura Meade. Learn how to identify and photograph the beautiful wildflowers that surround us by this well-known local naturalist and ornithologist.

August 4 "Many Trips to Many Tribes" by Walter & Doris Cohen. Learn about native Americans living all across North America. This slide presentation shows people, lifestyles and crafts from many tribes.

August 11 "History of Logging in the Adirondacks" by Dick Nason. Learn about the fascinating history of the logging industry through this informational slide presentation.

August 18 "Archaeology at Fort William Henry" by Dr. David Starbuck. Hear this popular archaeologist describe the excavations at Fort William Henry in '97 and '98 conducted through the auspices of Adirondack Community College.

August 25 "There is More to Adirondack Architecture Than Great Camps" by Stephen Engelhart. Discover the any other structures, such as bridges, dams, railroad stations, and cottages that represent architectural styles of the Adirondack region.
