Moment of Silence Sierra-Rose Santaniello, granddaughter of Sal & Kathy Santaniello. She died of SIDS at 5 weeks old.

Laura Ellen Thomson, Setauket, NY and David Keith DeLarm, son of Nancy DeLarm Fogwell and the late W. Keith DeLarm, Hague in Setauket on April 18.

Born: A boy, Thomas Andrew, to to Mary Elizabeth & Tom Williams on June 3, 1998 in Floral Park, NY. Proud grandparents are Mary Lou & Tom Curry, Sabbath Day Pt. and Great Neck, NY.
Born: A boy, Derek Austin, to Kim and Volker Bayer on May 4, 1998 in Stonybrook, L.I. Proud grandparents are Ida and Jeff Jordon, Hague, Raymond Olcott, Ticonderoga and Margot and Volker Bayer of Russilsheim, Germany.
Born: A girl, Emma Neumann, to Rev. Bruce & Kathleen (Hudak) Torrey on May 20, 1998 in Hartford, CT. Proud grandparents are Beverly and Richard Hudak, Sr., Ticonderoga and Rev. Robert & Barbara Torrey, Saugerties, NY. Great grandfather, Daniel F. Barret, Schuylerville, NY.
Married:
Died: Sierra-Rose Santaniello, of SIDS on May 29 in Selma, NC. She is survived by her parents, S.J. and Georgie-Anna Santaniello, grandparents, Virginia Lee Dame, Nancy Edgecomb, Sal and Kathy Santaniello and aunt & uncle Teri and Keith Denig.
Died: Gladys Thompson, 90, widow of George Thompson and long-time resident of Forest Bay, on June 12 in Moses Ludington Hospital. Survivors include son Fred, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.

Can You Identify These Hague People?

  • In August of this year this couple will celebrate their 69th anniversary which we believe is a record for Hague.
  • A relative newcomer to Hague, this young man has earned academic honors at Ticonderoga H.S. and has proved to be a valuable runner for the school. He was recently awarded a scholarship to Hamilton College.
  • Having moved to Hague as a child, she distinguished herself in high school by becoming the first Hague graduate in Ti High School to be valedictorian
  • Prom queen in her junior year at Ti High School, she went on to become Hague's first salutatorian there.
  • Born and raised in Hague, he spends many happy hours in his sugar house at Sabbath Day Point, making some of the best maple syrup in the area.
  • The owner and operator of Hague's largest marina, he is well known for his beautiful replicas of the Hacker Craft boats.

Ti High School students once again competed at the Olympics of the Visual Arts, sponsored by the NYS Art Teachers Assoc. The architecture team of Billy Bothe (Hague), Jim Cunningham, Thomas Morehouse and Emila Seerup won first place at the Olympics held at the NYS museum in Albany. They selected Egyptian architecture as their cultural influence.

Brandy Frasier (Hague), was a member of the Painting Team which brought back a third place.

Congratulations to the following Hague students who have received Presidential Awards which are given to graduating seniors who took specific rigorous course work and maintained high academic averages: "Gold" award recipients representing the top 14% of the senior class, include Lindsay Frasier, Lauren Mack and Doug Zeyak. Hague students receiving "Silver" Awards for Outstanding Educational Improvement are BILLY JOE SMITH and SHERRI SMITH.

Doug Zeyak (Hague) and Russ Dobler , (Ti) presented "Exploration of the Planets" and "Springtime in the Universe" on June 3 in the planetarium. These two students did this for their senior project.

Jessica Frasier, daughter of Edna and Dick Frasier, Hague, was named to the Dean's list at Clarkson University for the spring 1998 semester. She is majoring in biology and graduated as salutatorian of THS in 1997.

Hague graduates Lindsay Frasier and Doug Zeyak are both in the top 10% of the Ti High School class of 1998. Lindsay plans to attend Siena College and major in business. Her activities have included National Honor Society, Class President, Key Club, French Club, Youth in Government, SADD, and Track. Doug, son of Douglas and Sharon Zeyak, plans to attend Hamilton College to major in mathematics. His activities have included National Honor Society, Youth in Government, Male Model for Junior Miss, Indoor Track, Track, and Cross Country.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following Hague students who will graduate from Ticonderoga High School on June 27. Our best wishes go with them as they pursue their dreams.
