U. S. Postal Services Announces

The Rural Carrier Test 460 applications may be picked up and returned to all local area post offices. Starting salary is $11.70. Non-Career On Call Position Testing is ongoing


Hague Transfer Station is open now thru April 30th, 5 days; Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, 12-5 pm. From May 1 thru Labor Day it will be open 7 days, 12-5 pm.

On May 18, the town crew will be picking up white goods, furniture, C&D, etc. No garbage, leaves, brush or recyclables. This pickup is for senior citizens and physically disabled ONLY. Call Community Center, (518) 543-6161, with your name, address and what you have to pick up.


International Paper Company Tours

International Paper Co. offers tours of its paper mill on the third Wed. of each month, excluding April and December. Tours depart from the administration building at 4:30pm and last about an hour and a half. Guides will provide participants with the needed safety equipment and orientation prior to departure. Sturdy, closed-toe, low-heeled shoes are required. No dresses, skirts, shorts or loose-fitting clothing may be worn. Shirts must have at least a 4-inch sleeve. The tour program is open to all interested individuals 12 years of age and older. Groups with children under the age of 16 should have at least one adult chaperone for every four children. Advanced registration is required by calling Chris Smith at (518) 585-5675 no later than 5PM on the Friday before the tour date. Contact Jane Kuhl at (518) 585-5455 for more information.


Apple Blossom Festival at Fort

Fort Ticonderoga hosts an apple blossom picnic each May at The King's Garden at the Fort. If you would like to attend this year's picnic on May 23 from 1-4 pm, please call the fort at (518) 585-2831 to request an invitation. Guests, $15 ea. including admission, beverage, dessert and $10 donation. Children under 12 free. Gourmet boxed lunch in addition to above is $25ea.
